How to measure for an Acorn Stairlift
What you'll need:
- A good quality tape measure
- Someone to assist you with measurements
- Pen and paper
- Smart device to take photos
Acorn Stairlifts has devised a very easy method for working with you to obtain some specific measurements and photographs of your staircase, allowing them to assess suitability and functionality. The procedure is completed using a handheld smartphone or tablet and usually takes 20 to 30 minutes, with our stairlift specialist guiding you through the steps in a simple, step-by-step manner. At the end, we should have a thorough understanding of your requirements as well as the right stairlift for you.
Measuring your staircase
1. Overall Length of Staircase
This will be a straight measurement from the tip of the landing to the bottom of the landing
2. Staircase Width
Staircases may have different widths throughout. Measure the narrowest point
3. Clearance at the Bottom of Staircase
The requirement of this measurement must be at least 61cm.
4. Clearance at the Top of Staircase
Measure from the top landing to the nearest possible obstruction.
